چکیده

in recent years, the data used for analysis of social networks become very huge and restrictive so that it can be used an appropriate and small sampled network of original network for analysis goals. Sampling social network is referred to collect a small subgraph of original network with high property similarities between them. Due to important impact of sampling on the social network analyses, many algorithms have been proposed in the field of network sampling. In this paper, we propose a two-phase algorithm for sampling online social networks. At first phase, our algorithm iteratively constructs several set of minimum spanning tree (MST) of network. In the second phase, the proposed algorithm sorts vertices of MSTs and merge them to form a sampled network. Several simulation experiments are conducted to examine the performance of the proposed algorithm on different networks. The obtained results are compared with counterpart algorithms in terms of KS-test and ND-test. From the results, it can be observed that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing algorithms. Keywords—online social networks; social network analysis; network sampling; spanning tree

Sampling from social networks’s graph based on topological properties and bee colony algorithm

In recent years, the sampling problem in massive graphs of social networks has attracted much attention for fast analyzing a small and good sample instead of a huge network. Many algorithms have been proposed for sampling of social network’ graph. The purpose of these algorithms is to create a sample that is approximately similar to the original network’s graph in terms of properties such as de...

Using an Evaluator Fixed Structure Learning Automata in Sampling of Social Networks

Social networks are streaming, diverse and include a wide range of edges so that continuously evolves over time and formed by the activities among users (such as tweets, emails, etc.), where each activity among its users, adds an edge to the network graph. Despite their popularities, the dynamicity and large size of most social networks make it difficult or impossible to study the entire networ...

A Novel Approach for Detecting Relationships in Social Networks Using Cellular Automata Based Graph Coloring

All the social networks can be modeled as a graph, where each roles as vertex and each relationroles as an edge. The graph can be show as G = [V;E], where V is the set of vertices and E is theset of edges. All social networks can be segmented to K groups, where there are members in eachgroup with same features. In each group each person knows other individuals and is in touch ...

Comparing diagnosis of depression in depressed patients by EEG, based on two algorithms :Artificial Nerve Networks and Neuro-Fuzy Networks

Background and aims: Depression disorder is one of the most common diseases, but the diagnosis is widely complicated and controversial because of interventions, overlapping and confusing nature of the disease. So, keeping previous patients’ profile seems effective for diagnosis and treatment of present patients. Use of this memory is latent in synthetic neuro-fuzzy algorithm. P...
